A Life Changing Opportunity For Young Girls

A student from the PAGE program

PAGE offers a free summer program for girls living in mountain communities in Madison County, North Carolina. Now in its fourth year, the program offers learning and enrichment opportunities for girls in grades 6-9 and internships for high school girls. Our students create digital stories and their own magazine, grow to love books, go canoeing on a beautiful mountain lake, and spend time on a college campus.

Girls living in the remote communities of Spring Creek, Laurel and in Hot Springs are eligible to participate in the program for four consecutive summers. Undergraduate Duke students serve as mentors, role models and literacy teachers/coaches for girls who are entering grades 6-9.
